RDF Television is producing a new series for 8 PM weekdays on Channel 4 about crime and anti-social behaviour - working title “Mugshots”. The aim is to champion the public’s contribution to catching criminals as video technology becomes more accessible and the public more willing to help.

As part of the programme we are currently looking for two things:

- We would like to find a community, individual or group who have an on-going criminal or anti-social behaviour problem, such as constant vandalism or a spate of thefts. What we would like to do is send in our experts to see if we can help tighten security and perhaps even put up cameras, or other technology, to help catch the suspects in the act. We’re really hoping to be able to help someone with this feature of the programme and, whilst we cannot promise to include your area, we would like to speak to as many residents who have an issue as possible.

- Secondly, we would like to speak to residents who are running any new or unique initiatives in their area to help reduce crime or anti-social behaviour. This can be anything from starting your own street patrol, handing out cameras to residents or even community payback schemes.

We have a tight deadline and encourage anyone who is interested in either of these two programme elements to please contact us as soon as possible (before Christmas is preferable).

The team is available on 020 7013 4041 between 10:30 and 18:00, Mon – Fri, until December 16th. If you need to contact us after this date or would prefer to send an email please send it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. By way of background: RDF Television is a major supplier of factual programmes to UK broadcasters, producing long-running series including Emergency Bikers, How the Other Half Live and the award-winning Secret Millionaire. We have extensive experience of working on programmes involving criminality and which have required close involvement with the police.  For example, we are currently working with the Essex Police on Emergency Bikers for Channel 5 and, to a lesser extent, with Wimbledon Police for a documentary on shoplifting for Channel 4.

We look forward to hearing from some of you soon but if we don’t get to speak, have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Years.
