This email was received to day with some strange comments.
Have you got any?
Do you know who and what caused this situation in the first place?
Dear Mr Mandeville
Further to your email
relating to Dogs in
I have visited the Square during the lunchtime period as suggested and witnessed two local residents bringing their dogs into the square, following a review of the interviews and circumstances both residents were issued with warning letters, informing them of the fixed penalty system and the concerns other local residents.
This is the content of an open letter to the Dog Wardens, the neighbourhood policing team and copied to the local councillors for action
Hello,
As you have seen the evidence and on speaking to some of the regular dog walkers, We are formally requesting that a lengthy visit is made to Bedford Square for the following reasons
under the following page http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfm?request=c1195746
* To asses the state and clarify of the No Dogs signage on each of the gates.
* To uphold the "no dogs allowed" rule as indicated.
* Where required to enforce the action.
We have previously provided details of time that dogs are visiting and the story of "I am just visiting the area" does not hold water.

2 trees in the north east corner of bedford square have been bent over and are in danger of toppling unless straightened and supported.
Response
The trees you refer to have been inspected today. The tree officer
reports that the trees are not in danger of falling over. As they have
rooted well into the ground, it is not possible to straighten them as
their roots would have to be severed in order to do so. It is
unfortunate that we were not aware of the trees growing at such an angle
earlier as we could have rectified the situation.
Kind regards.

Did you recieve a neighbourhood watch newsletter through your door? If not, dont be suprised.
Recently a couple of PCSO's and a police volunteer delivered "do you want a watch group" style form through each door.
Thats around 32 letters. Depsite there being on average 5 flats per building, lets say 200 households. So they missed 170 people in their lefalet drop. This depsite the fact there is already a known (to the police) Neighbourhood Watch group operating within Bedford Square.
It is also listed on

Here is an email chain regarding the issues in Bedford Place that affects Bedford Square. Feel free to comment
To the council
we are receiving complaints reference the Mosque on Fridays.
the complainant didn't want it to be turned intoa religious issue (how very
PC) but are concern over the safety issue with road blocking by taxis, and
people leaving the mosque and blocking the road by just standing in it.
1st October
Thanks for that. I have raised this issue some time ago with the head of transport, and been promised a briefing on it, but it has not been forthcoming so far. I'll chase this tomorrow.
Thanks for the prompt.
All the best
