The Environment and Community Safety Overview and Scrutiny Committee at
Brighton & Hove City Council has set up a Scrutiny Panel to conduct
a ‘Speed Reduction Review: An investigation into 20 mph speed
limits/zones’.
As part of the scrutiny process the panel is
keen to canvas opinion from a wide range of groups and organisations
about 20 mph speed limits and 20 mph zones. In particular, the panel
would like to hear the views of Neighbourhood Forums about the impact
of possible speed reduction initiatives in their area.
Please
could you contact me as soon as possible, but by no later than the 31
December if you would like to provide information and evidence for the
scrutiny panel to consider.
Many thanks,
Libby Young

You may notice that in the top northern end, their is now a gap in the parking bay. The council must have decided that to make it easier for people to get in and out of the top gate (that people have complained about) they would make the gap and make a large bay for solo motorcylces.
Any comments on this?
Did the council decide the right thing?

To the council
we are receiving complaints reference the Mosque on Fridays.
the complainant didn't want it to be turned intoa religious issue (how very
PC) but are concern over the safety issue with road blocking by taxis, and
people leaving the mosque and blocking the road by just standing in it.

Thanks for that. I have raised this issue some time ago with the head of transport, and been promised a briefing on it, but it has not been forthcoming so far. I'll chase this tomorrow.
Thanks for the prompt.
All the best
