The Environment and Community Safety Overview and Scrutiny Committee at Brighton & Hove City Council has set up a Scrutiny Panel to conduct a ‘Speed Reduction Review: An investigation into 20 mph speed limits/zones’.

As part of the scrutiny process the panel is keen to canvas opinion from a wide range of groups and organisations about 20 mph speed limits and 20 mph zones. In particular, the panel would like to hear the views of Neighbourhood Forums about the impact of possible speed reduction initiatives in their area.

Please could you contact me as soon as possible, but by no later than the 31 December if you would like to provide information and evidence for the scrutiny panel to consider.

Many thanks,

Libby Young

20 mph sounds a good limit in narrow residential streets like Bedford Square. Cars coming down Bedford Place into the square get up quite a speed and it would be good to have this limited
